What You Need

The OS X Mountain Lion installer is just a smidgen too big to fit on a standard DVD. Dual-layer DVDs are available just about anywhere standard DVDs are sold. If your Mac doesn't have a built-in SuperDrive, use an external DVD burner.

You can also use a USB flash drive that can hold at least 5GB (8GB and 16GB are commonly available sizes) as your bootable media.
